180's Domestic Violence Services

Hotlines for Domestic Violence

Our hotline is the 24 hour supportive connection for individuals in crisis. Providing immediate counseling, and critical information for callers, the hotline is also a referral agent to our safe house, court assistance and counseling programs. Our Domestic Violence Hotline, 1.888.843.9262, is available 24 Hours, 7 Days a Week and is completely confidential.

Safe House

When violence forces women and children to leave their homes, 180's Safe House is a safe haven. It shelters up to 7 families at a time for a period of 30 to 60 days in a confidential location. Residents are provided with counseling, advocacy and assistance in finding housing. For the children, art therapy and counseling are available. Domestic Violence Crisis Response Teams

have joined with municipal police departments to accompany victims and their children at police stations. The specially trained volunteers provide emotional support and valuable information during this difficult time.

Court Assistance
Court proceedings can seem confusing and intimidating. The Family Court Liaison Program has knowledgeable, experienced staff available to provide consultation in obtaining or dropping a restraining order, information on court procedures, and accompaniment for a client through the court process. 180's Family Court Liaison Program can be reached at the Monmouth County Courthouse in Freehold, New Jersey at 732-677-4332 and 732-677-4345.

Domestic Violence Counseling

Our counseling fees are based on a sliding-scale.
All Services are Confidential.

Victims of domestic violence often feel alone, afraid to reach out for help. 180 is the place to turn; our group counselors specialize in helping clients involved in abusive relationships. By providing domestic violence group group counseling, 180's clients find the compassion, treatment and support they need to turn their lives around . Culturally Sensitive Counseling

Cultural differences and language barriers make it difficult to receive assistance and support. Makeda, a specialized Women of Color counseling program, offers culturally relevant services in Neptune, Asbury Park and surrounding areas. Counseling in Spanish is available. Art Therapy for Children

Amanda's Easel, the nationally recognized art therapy program, is designed to create a support system to help both children and parents cope with the life changes precipitated by violence and abuse. Transitional Housing

In addition to fearing for their safety, many women stay in abusive relationships because they fear homelessness and financial instability. 180's Families in Transition Program provides women and their children with a safe home for up to 24 months. Support services include career counseling, financial management, life skills training and assistance to obtain permanent housing.
